ATS Healthcare Facility, Bergamo

In 2026, in Bergamo, the outdoor paving at ATS Bergamo underwent a redevelopment project. The intervention involved the large forecourt in front of the building, renewed with a regular mineral-look surface that complements the historic character of the architecture.
For the outdoor paving, L'ALTRA PIETRA 2CM (0.8") COLOSSEO Porfido Lavis was used in the 60×120×2 cm (24"x48"x0.8") format. The large rectangular Sintered Stone slabs follow a staggered laying pattern across the entire surface, defining the pedestrian routes without creating an overly rigid design.
The surface of 2CM (0.8") COLOSSEO Porfido Lavis recalls the distinctive character of Trentino porphyry through a combination of grey, brown and subtle violet shades. The colour variation remains controlled. The result is a textured paving surface that works naturally with the historic façade, seating areas and landscaped spaces.
The images highlight the relationship between the Sintered Stone slabs, the palm trees and the greenery bordering the forecourt. The 60×120 cm (24"x48") format creates broad, visually ordered surfaces, while the light-coloured joints clearly define the geometry of the laying pattern.
Black Slate 30-80 mm was also used in the planted beds and recessed planters. The dark slate chips surround the trees and create a clear contrast with the grey-brown paving. This decorative material helps distinguish the planted areas without interrupting the visual continuity of the project.
The new outdoor paving at ATS Bergamo creates a restrained, contemporary exterior while maintaining a balanced relationship with the existing architecture.
